The phone rang at eight pm while Alan Baruch was finishing dinner with his girlfriend. They were sitting on the patio at Sassafras in Yorkville, and when the call finished Alan let out a little yell of delight. ‘’Honey, I have news. Netflix liked our script and they’ve given the green light for production. I go to LA next week, meet with their people and then we’re off and running.’’ Heather Kahn started to cry. It had been a long and sometimes difficult journey, but Alan had never given up. He believed in what he was doing and refused to stop pushing. The Bubbie Break was going into production.

After dinner, as they were strolling through Yorkville, Alan asked Heather if she was finally ready to get married. She smiled and said she’d been ready for six years, he was the one who was always delaying the process.

Alan stopped, got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. ‘’I wanted to wait for the right occasion and it just never presented itself. That was then, this is now, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you be my wife?’’ She stepped forward, put her arms around his head and pulled him into her bosom. ‘’Yes, Yes, Yes, a million times yes.’’ They kissed and continued to stroll, the difference was Heather now had a three carat engagement ring on her finger.
