Sometimes catching fish is secondary when it comes to a fishing trip

Jack Steinberg didn’t get it and couldn’t understand it. His brother Eddie had joined him and six of his buddies for a fishing trip to the middle of nowhere and Eddie was not trying very hard to catch fish. What was the point of a fishing trip in pristine Northern Ontario? The answer was to take home your limit of Walleye. Eddie just didn’t seem to care.

Eddie Steinberg loved flying in to the fishing camp. The fishing group embarked from Toronto Pearson Airport and flew in to Thunder Bay Ontario where they rented SUV’s for their five hour drive north. Eddie was in a car with Hersh Nichols, Bernie Crozier and Morton Marder. The conversation was upbeat and there was much laughter in the car.

It would have been nice if Eddie would have driven up with Jack in the rental car, but Jack was driving with a few of his friends, so Eddie was assigned to the car he was in which was fine.

The guys stopped at a supermarket to buy some last minute snacks and then stopped one more time at a roadside restaurant for lunch. The big ticket was grilled cheese sandwiches with home fries. Eddie saw they were offering grilled moose liver on the menu, so he went with a tomato sandwich on toast. He thought the Moose meat and the grilled cheese could have been heated up on the same grill…
