The Relationship Revelation…

Harry Marx was thinking about what life would be like when his girlfriend Shelly Goldman moved in with him. They had talked about it for a long time and she was moving in.

It had all started innocently enough. Shelly’s lease on the Townhouse she was living in was coming up for renewal and she had mentioned that if they lived together they would save money and have fun. Harry had agreed and that was that. She called two weeks later to inquire about the size of his storage locker.

Shelly was excited about moving in together and had asked about replacing some of Harry’s furniture with her own. She talked about taking Coconut for regular walks, at least three times a day. Coconut was a high-energy Black Labrador.

When the weekend of the move came, Harry gave it his all to help out. Shelly had hired ‘’The Brothers’’ Moving company, and they were very efficient. Harry led them to his pristine storage locker which in no time was filled to the rafters.

Shelly worked in the kitchen, unloading spices and other essentials. She was frantically looking for a place for her Air Fryer and was concerned about the lack of counter space. Harry walked over to see if he could be of assistance and she gave him a big kiss. ‘’I’m so happy that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.’’ It was a serious statement and the impact of it hit Harry like a gale-force wind. Shelly had given up her townhouse to be with him, it was a huge step, especially the responsibility to never let her down. He wanted to find a place to hide and meditate but there really was nowhere as he had to help with the unpacking.

After seven hours of unloading, it was over. Harry sat back and looked at his living room and kitchen which no longer looked like his living room and kitchen. The same transformation was going on in the Master Bedroom. Shelly was feathering the nest. When she was done, she suggested they go for a drive and pick up Coconut at her brother’s place.

Coconut was enthusiastic when he found out he was moving to a new neighbourhood. He had been there before, but now he could keep marking the same posts and trees on a regular basis. When they got home Shelly suggested they all go for a walk. Harry would have preferred a few minutes to rest, but there was no time for that.
