Bradley Davis always had a secret crush on Marni Sampson. She was the perfect woman, she was decent, funny, intelligent, cosmopolitan, and very attractive.

Brad and Marni had met on the first day of University and had developed a strong friendship and incredible bond. When Brad’s Dad had suffered a heart attack, Marni was there for him. He was taking a long commute every weekend from school back to his hometown, and she would drive him to the airport or train station and pick him up when he returned. There were so many times he wanted to kiss her and profess his feelings but he couldn’t

Marni had a serious boyfriend named Michael Cohen. They had grown up together and were inseparable. In the last year of University, Michael shocked Marni by falling in love with another woman and she was crushed. Brad wanted to step in and be her knight in shining armour but he was involved in his own relationship with Barbi Lerner and just couldn’t do it. Their timing had been off and he regretted it.

Two years after they graduated, Brad received an invitation to Marni’s wedding. They hadn’t kept in touch as much as Brad would have liked. Both of them had accepted jobs that required devotion and dedication and that was how they were spending their time. Marni was in New York and Brad was in Toronto. Brad had mentioned to Marni he was dating different women as he and Barbi had just not worked out. She had told him she had met a Finance guy named Chuck and he was fun to go out with, but it was nothing serious. He ran a small Hedge Fund on Wall Street. It was obvious that things had evolved between Marni and Chuck from just fun as marriage represented the ultimate serious situation.

Brad was surprised one morning to receive a call from Chuck to personally invite him to his Bachelor Party. The group would be going to a wonderful restaurant Jean-Georges for a memorable dinner. Chuck mentioned that men were not allowed in unless they were wearing dinner jackets. It was a classy spot and that’s what he wanted for his last major party as a single man. Brad thanked him for the invite, accepted, and told him how much he was looking forward to attending.

Brad booked into Baccarat Hotel and got ready to meet Charles and his friends. Marnie wanted Brad to stay at her place, but for some reason, he couldn’t. He didn’t…
