Frank Levitt was waiting for his Aunt, Miriam Gordon to arrive in Toronto from San Francisco. He had arrived at Toronto Pearson Airport, Terminal 3 very early to greet her.

He looked at the Arrival’s board and her flight was delayed by five minutes. He saw there was a kiosk selling poutine off to the side of the waiting area and decided to grab a bite.

Poutine is french fries mixed with cheese curds and gravy. He ordered the vegetarian so his gravy was not beef based. The cheese was also plant based. He took a seat that faced the arrival doors and started to feed his face, when a couple sat down across from him.

The woman was in her thirties, about five foot eight with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was dressed in casual clothing, but her wedding ring was enormous, indicating she was a woman of means. The guy who was with her was also in this thirties. He was tall and intense. He had a well manicured beard, and he looked to be athletic. The man didn’t keep his eyes off of the woman as they sat down. Frank noticed that the guy’s jeans were so tight they could have been painted on.

Frank felt like an interloper sitting across from the couple, as he could hear every word they said, and he couldn’t stop looking over at them. The guy moved his chair around to be closer to the woman. ‘’I didn’t expect to see you Terri. Its been a while since Everett and you hosted your Christmas party but I haven’t stop thinking about us and that night.’’

Terri looked embarrassed ‘’Michael, that kiss we shared was a huge mistake. I had a few drinks and you were complimenting me, and I kind of lost control, but I love Everett, and he’s your wife’s boss, and I will never cheat on him.’’

Frank felt gravy rolling down his chin, but he was engrossed in the discussion. He watched as Michael gently placed his hand over Terri’s. Michael was Mr. Smooth, ‘’Maybe the kiss didn’t mean much to you, but it changed my life. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you. I want you Terri.’’

There was silence as they looked into each other’s eyes and Michael moved in for a kiss. Terri pulled her head back very slowly, as though she was debating about what to do. ‘’Are you crazy, my husband’s plane is going to be landing very shortly…
