Blind Dates Can Go Wrong

Dating has challenges, especially blind dates

Herschell Ostrepeller was so nervous he felt like throwing up. He was twenty three years old and he had recently broken up with Lisa Mantel who he had been involved with for two years.

Lisa had given Herschell an ultimatum regarding their relationship, ‘’Either shit or get off the pot.’’ She wanted to get engaged and he didn’t think he was ready. He honestly didn’t even know if she was the right woman to spend his life with.

He had gone on JDate and met a woman named Lisa Fleishman. Another Lisa, it was a bit disconcerting but he knew even though it was the same first name, the woman he was meeting was not his ex.

They chose Earl’s Tin Palace for the date. They would meet there and have a bite and drinks. Herschell arrived early and was shown to a table near the bar. It wasn’t ideal, but it faced the door, so he could see when his date walked in.

Herschell went to the bathroom and after pishing, he checked himself out in the mirror. He was wearing a black tee shirt and jeans. He worked out three times a week, so his body was in good shape. His hair probably could have used a cut, but his moustache was well trimmed. He thought about taking off his glasses but he always wore them, why should he change his appearance. In the immortal words of Popeye, ‘’He was who he was.’’

After leaving the bathroom, Herschell went back to the table and sat down. The waitress came over and asked if he wanted anything, and he explained he was waiting for his blind date. She giggled and asked ‘’So, she can’t see anything?’’ Herschell started to explain, and she laughed harder. ‘’Just kidding, I’ve been on enough blind dates to know what they are.’’ She gently placed a glass of water in front of him. ‘’When you’re ready to order, let me know.’’

A gorgeous girl walked into the bar. She looked amazing and Herschell wanted to meet her but since he was on a date that would have been a slimy thing to do. The attractive woman went to the bar and sat down and looked around. She stopped at Herschell for a minute, smiled and turned her head to talk to the bartender.

A couple of minutes later a guy walked into the bar and went over to the woman who had just walked in. It was obvious it was…
