A Mouse Can Roar…OBSO ON T.O.

Our Offices are located in an old building slated for demolition to make room for a mixed use office and condominium complex.

I’ve enjoyed our time here as the ambience has been very artsy and the atmosphere very relaxed. The problem is things inside the building are starting to deteriorate and building management has taken a ‘’why should we fix it?’’ approach to everything. They know the building will be rubble in the near future.

They’ve stopped actively trying to rent out offices and they do the bare minimum in terms of regulating heat and cold.

We have three people who work in our offices everyday. Two of the three are very intelligent and rational women. It is for this reason that I can’t get over their reaction to Wilbur.

Wilbur is the pet name I’ve given to the mouse who rudely disrupted life in our office. He or maybe she did this by simply running across the office floor. The first to spot Wilbur was Margo, a Graduate student from the University of Toronto. She reacted by jumping on her chair and screaming. This immediately aroused a reaction from my partner, Susie(the one who negotiates tough contracts) who ran into her office and slammed the door shut.

After the Wilbur sighting there was no living with the ladies. They made me check everywhere to make sure Wilbur wasn’t around…
